Vascular Neurology Fellowship

The Houston Methodist Stanley H. Appel Department of Neurology is proud to offer a fellowship in Vascular Neurology with a focus on training the next generation of research specialists to lead the field in stroke prevention, treatment, and recovery. Our mission in training is to establish the fellow as a leader in vascular neurology research through mentorship and opportunities for independent work in clinical, epidemiological, and investigator-initiated projects.

Our program is located in the heart of the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical center in the world, and based on the only US News and World Report Honor Roll hospital in Texas. The core of our training and all we do at Houston Methodist is our values of integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence. These values guide our mission to deliver world-class training, research, and clinical care.

The fellowship is a one-year, ACGME accredited fellowship with dedicated rotations on the stroke service, including time in the Angio suite, neurological ICU, and emergency room. In addition to inpatient management, the fellows will have an outpatient follow-up clinic, and rotations in neuroimaging, neurosonology, neurological rehab.
