Conflict of Interest Policy
Houston Methodist is committed to integrity and the protection of patient welfare. Our Research Conflicts of Interest program is intended to ensure that the design, conduct, reporting and publication of research will not be biased by actual or perceived conflicts of interest. Houston Methodist's goal is to promote the identification and, if required, resolution or management of such conflicts in the context of research.
The policy document RE14 Conflicts of Interest in Research ensures that the design, conduct, reporting and publication of research will not be biased by any conflicts of interest. This policy applies to all persons performing research at Houston Methodist.
Public requests for information concerning PHS funded investigators who have financial conflicts of interest must be made in writing to:
Kirstin H. Madigan, MPH
Director, Research Integrity and Compliances
Houston Methodist Research Institute
Josie Roberts Administration Building, RB4-411
7550 Greenbriar Dr., Houston TX 77030
HMRICOIMailbox@houstonmethodist.org
The request must include the name of the investigator, the nature of the request and a return address. A written response to the person making the request will be provided within five business days from the receipt of the request in the Office of Research Protections.
Grant Administration
The Office of Grants Administration is the central office responsible for all aspects of research grants and contracts at The Methodist Hospital Research Institute. Our staff manages both external funding (from federal and non-federal sponsors of research) and internal funding provided through Houston Methodist-sponsored grants. We also oversee departmental budget compliance with sponsor agreements. We assist investigators in the preparation and submission of applications for external grants and review and negotiate contracts with industry sponsors for basic and clinical research.
For more information regarding grants and contracts, please contact the office at 346.561.7936.
