MORTI
The Methodist Online Research Technology Initiative (MORTI) is the online portal of the Houston Methodist Research Institute that manages the electronic submission, review and approval of research projects at Houston Methodist. It facilitates and electronically routes Administrative Reviews, IRB, IACUC, Safety Committee, and Grants and Contracts submissions. Other modules include Credentialing, Conflict of Interest reports and the Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS).
MORTI can be accessed through most web browsers at https://morti.tmhs.org. For MORTI-related questions or support needs, contact

MORTI Classroom Training
MORTI Classroom Training introduces users to the MORTI system or CTMS. Classes are held the 1st Wednesday of the month in Mary Gibbs Jones, room 6-012. If you have questions about MORTI classroom instruction, contact MORTITraining@houstonmethodist.org.

MORTI Classroom Training Registration for Methodist Employees
Space is limited - registration is required.
• Register via MARS MyLearning at http://erpprd.tmh.tmhs/
• Log into MARS, then click on MyLearning
• Enter MORTI or CTMS in the "Search the Catalog" search box
• Select a class then click "Enroll"
• You will receive a confirmation of your class registration

How do I create a MORTI account?
How do I log into MORTI?
Go to http://MORTI.tmhs.org and enter your Houston Methodist ID and password. If you don't know your Methodist ID or password, contact the IT Helpdesk at 832-667-5600 or email helpdesk@houstonmethodist.org.
What if I forgot my username and/or password?
Contact the Houston Methodist IT Helpdesk at 832-667-5600 or helpdesk@houstonmethodist.org.
How long does my MORTI account stay active?
If you are a Houston Methodist employee, your MORTI account will remain active as long as you are a regular employee and your credentialing status is up-to-date. If you are not a Houston Methodist employee or if you are a Houston Methodist visitor or contractor, your account will expire after 90 days. You will need to contact Houston Methodist IT Helpdesk at 832-667-5600 or helpdesk@houstonmethodist.org to renew your account.

How can I access MORTI from home or outside the Houston Methodist network?

Do I need a VPN token to login?
No. All you need is your Houston Methodist username and password.
Will MORTI automatically log me out if I'm inactive for a certain amount of time?
Yes. If you are on the Houston Methodist Network and inactive for 60 minutes, MORTI will automatically log you out. If you are outside the Houston Methodist network, you will be logged out after 30 minutes of inactivity.
Why did MORTI make me login again? I’m outside the network, but I was actively working in MORTI.
If you access MORTI from outside the Houston Methodist network, you will be required to re-login every 60 minutes (regardless of activity level) or after 30 minutes of inactivity.
Why does my computer slow down or freeze when I try to login from outside the Houston Methodist network?
You may need to install an ActiveX component. If a yellow bar appears below your browser’s address bar, click the bar to install the component. If you do not see a yellow bar, contact your IT help desk for assistance in installing ActiveX components in your Internet Explorer.
How can I display my clinical trial on the HoustonMethodist.org website?
To upload your clinical trial to the clinical trials search directory on the Houston Methodist website, follow the instructions found here.
