Loren Rourke, M.D., Houston Methodist breast surgical oncologist now seeing patients in The Woodlands

Loren Rourke, M.D., F.A.C.S., breast surgical oncologist, is now seeing patients at Houston Methodist The Woodlands and Houston Methodist Willowbrook hospitals. Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital established its Breast Care Center in Medical Office Building 1 recently and the hospital is set to open in July of 2017.
Prior to joining Houston Methodist, Rourke practiced breast surgery with MD Anderson Cancer Center in The Woodlands. Rourke earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Cell & Molecular Biology from Tulane University in New Orleans, and later obtained a Doctor of Medicine from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport. She served her internship in General Surgery at Indiana State University School of Medicine where she earned Golden Scalpel Intern of the Year and a Professionalism Award. Afterward, Rourke completed a Susan Komen Clinical Fellowship in Interdisciplinary Breast Cancer Care at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
Her clinical expertise includes advanced breast surgery techniques, nipple-sparing mastectomies, skin-sparing mastectomies, oncoplastic procedures and benign breast diseases to include high-risk patients.
