Houston Methodist West Hospital ranked first in 28 categories in the 2018 Harris County Medical Society (HCMS) Physician Hospital Survey. The survey compiled responses from over 2,300 Harris County physicians to provide rankings for 24 Houston-area hospitals.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to participate in the survey as it serves as a tool for us to open dialogue, encourage feedback, communicate issues, celebrate successes and set goals for the upcoming year,” said Wayne M. Voss, chief executive officer of Houston Methodist West.

Houston Methodist West received the highest score in 28 out of 39 categories. Physicians rated hospitals across five areas: overall satisfaction, quality of medical care, hospital policies and administration, medical staff issues and electronic medical records. The results provide hospitals with data that can enhance patient care by spotlighting best practices and opportunities for improvement.

“One of the most important things you need to lead in health care is the willingness to listen to your physicians. It is our hope the results of the survey will encourage open dialogue to improve physician-hospital relationships which will ultimately improve patient care at Houston-area hospitals,” Dr. George Santos, former HCMS president said.
