Houston Methodist West Hospital Donates to Harris County Precinct 5 Constable's Office
Houston Methodist West Hospital recently presented the Harris County Precinct 5 Constable's Office with 81 tactical first aid kits during a recent visit. Security Services Manager Paul Martinez worked to facilitate the donation for Constable Ted Heap’s deputies as part of an ongoing partnership.
“Houston Methodist West is proud to help our local law enforcement,” said Martinez. “When it comes to gunshot wounds and other types of serious traumas, a tactical first aid kit can make the difference between life and death for a deputy or a civilian.”
Each tactical first aid kit contains a tourniquet, emergency trauma dressing, gauze and nitrile gloves. Precinct 5 plans to schedule training classes for their deputies on proper use of the first aid kits and place them in their patrol vehicles for easy access during an incident.
The donation further highlights the existing partnership between Houston Methodist West and Precinct 5. The precinct assists the hospital in conducting active shooter drills for its employees throughout the year and instructs on safety measures.
