Houston Methodist’s DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center announce physician network
Building on a legacy of innovation in cardiovascular care, Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center recently announced the formation of Houston’s largest network of physicians specializing in heart and vascular conditions.
“Houston Methodist’s history is founded on cardiovascular care, beginning with Dr. Michael DeBakey. We’ve always offered an open network for physicians, a model that allows the best and the brightest to practice medicine within our walls. Combining the tremendous expertise of our affiliated physicians into one network allows us to offer seamless specialized care to all of our patients, across our entire system of hospitals,” said Alan Lumsden, M.D., Chair, Department of Cardiovascular Surgery and Medical Director, Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart and Vascular Center.
The network brings together 213 physicians specializing in cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, cardiac imaging and cardiovascular anesthesiology who practice throughout the Houston Methodist system.
“Our physicians have enthusiastically embraced the opportunity to join the DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center as members. While membership offers access to the latest in technology and professional opportunities, it is really our patients who benefit. They will have more robust options for treatment and we believe this will naturally lead to an enhanced patient experience and outcomes,” said William Zoghbi, M.D., Chair, Department of Cardiology, Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart and Vascular Center.
