Houston Methodist Blanton Eye Institute physicians will join experts from around the globe to present the latest ophthalmology research at the upcoming American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) annual meeting.

AAO 2024, to be held in Chicago Oct. 18-21, is expected to draw more than 13,000 clinicians and researchers, 5,000 of them presenters. The event, the largest ophthalmology conference in the world, this year will offer specialized tracks dedicated to retinal diseases, glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology and more.

The Houston Methodist faculty members invited to deliver talks include Dr. Andrew Lee, chair of Ophthalmology; Dr. Charles Wykoff, retinal disease specialist; Dr. Amy Schefler, ocular oncologist; Dr. Amina Malik, oculoplastic and reconstructive surgeon; and Dr. Patricia Chevez-Barrios, ophthalmic pathologist.
