AAOS 2024: Houston Methodist Experts Showcase Orthopedic Advancements

Jan. 9, 2024 - Eden McCleskey

Five Houston Methodist orthopedic doctors will present research next month at the annual meeting of the 39,000-member American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), the world's largest medical association of musculoskeletal specialists.

The 2024 AAOS Annual Meeting, to be hosted in San Francisco Feb. 12-16, is expected to draw more than 20,000 attendees, both surgeons and allied health professionals, gathered to hear about the latest innovations for bone and joint conditions, treatments and related issues.

Drs. Terry Clyburn, Stephen Incavo and Kevin Park, winners of AAOS's prestigious Otto Aufranc Award for surgical innovation in 2023, will present the latest findings from their studies on the new intraosseous drug delivery protocol they developed for total hip and total knee arthroplasties.

Additionally, Dr. Patrick McCulloch, the John S. Dunn Chair of Orthopedic Surgery at Houston Methodist, will deliver multiple presentations on topics ranging from injury prevention in professional ballet dancers to screw versus suture-button fixation in the Latarjet procedure.
