Helping Haitian Women
Today, our journey continues as we fly from Fort Lauderdale to Toussaint Louveture International Airport near Port-au-Prince. Then, we pack our luggage, equipment and ourselves into two, five-seater planes to Pignon, where we’ll land at a small airfield. After arrival, we drop off our luggage at the compound where we will be staying all week, and then head to Hospital Bienfaisance de Pignon to meet local doctors and start seeing patients.
Travel Facts:
- Each plane’s weight limit is 892 pounds
- Pignon’s airfield has a grass landing strip
