Clinical Pastoral Education

The Houston Methodist Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program is accredited by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) to offer all levels of CPE (levels I and II, Certified Educator CPE) with a long-standing history since 1967. Our program has been providing comprehensive pastoral education to individuals seeking to enhance their skills in spiritual care.

At Houston Methodist, we believe in integrating chaplains and CPE students into the healthcare team. We value and appreciate their active participation in patient and family care. To ensure their growth and development, our students work closely with experienced staff chaplains in a mentoring relationship, fostering a supportive and enriching learning environment.

We seek students dedicated to extending hospitality, service, and love to the sick and those who care for them. Our program welcomes individuals who are open to learning, spiritually sensitive, and motivated to participate in the healing ministry of Houston Methodist.
