HM Foreign Pharmacist Graduate Program (FPGP)

To that end, we continuously strive to improve the quality and safety of patient care and the medication management process, to cultivate an environment of collaboration and teamwork, to provide high-quality training and education to our technicians, student pharmacists, residents, and pharmacists, to maximize the use of automation and information technology, and to maximize cost efficiencies and resource utilization.

The Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Program (FPGP) at Houston Methodist Hospital was established at the beginning at this century and has successfully graduated 15 International Pharmacists candidates from this program, notably with a 100% employment rate after completing the requirements with the Texas Board of Pharmacy.  Our FPGP candidates have the opportunity to learn from operational and clinical preceptors that are experts in their fields to best advance their hospital pharmacy knowledge through rotations in the different areas. The program consists of a curriculum that cover the operational and clinical areas within our department to further develop their interests through rotations including Operations, Sterile Product Area, Medication History, Medication Safety, Investigational Drugs, Informatics and Clinical Specialties. We strive to integrate high-level, quality training to best enable our FPGP candidates to be well-prepared and competitive applicants for acceptance into their future professional careers in Pharmacy within the United States.
