The department of Rheumatology at Houston Methodist in Houston offers a 2 year, clinically based fellowship. This program is intended for Internal Medicine physicians who have completed 3 years of approved graduate training in Internal Medicine in the United States. The Rheumatology clinical program enjoys a wealth of diverse clinical expertise, spanning the entire spectrum of rheumatological diseases from musculoskeletal disorders to systemic autoimmune conditions and other rheumatologic diseases. A complete didactive curriculum that will provide fellows with the understanding of the fundamentals of rheumatologic conditions. We place emphasis on a multidisciplinary approach offering a variety of electives during the 2 year clinical training. This electives include but are not limited to osteoporosis, interstial lung disease and connective tissue diseases , sports medicine , dermatology , and pediatric rheumatology.
The Houston Methodist Academic Institute is located in the Texas Medical Center (the largest medical center in the world with two medical schools, the largest cancer hospital in the world, and Rice University across the street), which provides endless opportunities for those interested in pursuing scientific and clinical research.
