About Dr. Stephen Hilgers
Dr. Steve Hilgers is Director of the Reproductive Robotic Surgery Program at Houston Methodist Hospital and a specialist in restorative gynecologic and reproductive medicine. He earned his medical degree from UT Medical School at Houston, and completed his OB/GYN residency at Houston Methodist, where he was named Chief Resident of the Year. He trained in medical and surgical NaProTechnology at the Saint Paul VI Institute and Creighton University, focusing on advanced pelvic surgery using the da Vinci robotic system. His clinical expertise includes minimally invasive treatments for conditions such as abnormal uterine bleeding, endometriosis, PCOS, ovarian cysts, and infertility.
Dr. Hilgers is board-certified in OB/GYN with a focused designation in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery. He holds academic appointments with Weill Cornell and Texas A&M, and is affiliated with several professional organizations including AUGL, and IIRRM.
ATTENTION: Effective September 1, 2025, Stephen J. Hilgers, MD, JD, CFCMC, will no longer practice with Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology Associates at Houston Methodist Hospital – Medical Center. A medical records release is not required for patients who choose to continue receiving care from another Houston Methodist Obstetrics & Gynecology Associates physician or one of our Advanced Practice Providers.
