About Dr. Mena Botros
Mena Botros completed his M.D. at The University of Toledo College of Medicine and moved to Columbus in 2015 to complete his Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency at The Ohio State University. He served as MedPeds Chief Resident during his final year of residency, where he focused on resident education and curriculum development, before starting Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship in 2019. During his fellowship, Dr. Botros completed a sub-fellowship in pulmonary transplant medicine.
Dr. Botros clinical and research interests include adult congenital lung diseases, lung transplantation, graduate medical education, and health equity. His research includes work on the use of donor-derived cell free DNA in lung transplant, gene expression profiling of acute allograft dysfunction, COVID-19 vaccine efficacy in immunosuppressed patients, and clinical outcomes in adult bronchopulmonary dysplasia. He remains passionate about graduate medical education, volunteering in the community, and global health outreach
