About Dr. Kelvin Allenson

Dr. Allenson is a board-certified Surgical Oncologist with expertise in hepatopancreatobiliary and gastrointestinal cancers, as well as soft tissue sarcomas. He serves as Chair of the Cancer Committee at Houston Methodist Hospital, where he recently led the institution through successful reaccreditation by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.
He completed his fellowship in Complex General Surgical Oncology at the Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute, University of South Florida, and an NIH T32 Research Fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Allenson earned his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and completed his general surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida.
