Getting Started

Welcome valued Boeing Team Member. Your care and comfort are important to us. Our Boeing Liaisons will work with you to ensure you have a seamless experience on your journey to health with Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital.

HOW TO GET STARTED

Step 1

  • Confirm you are enrolled in an eligible group to travel to a Boeing Center of Excellence for your surgery.
 

Step 2

  • Contact your Boeing Liaison at Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital at 866.789.1984 or email boeingliaison@houstonmethodist.org to discuss your care services and travel accommodations to Texas.  If you receive a voice recording, please leave your Boeing Liaison a detailed message and you will be contacted within one hour. 
  • Your Boeing Liaison will discuss the following information with you:
    • The name and phone number of your emergency contact
    • The name and phone number of the person who will be traveling with you and/or assisting you after your surgery
    • What procedure you are considering?
    • An assessment of your availability for surgery dates
    • Who is your Home Physician?
    • Who is the primary contact for medical records in the Home Physician’s office?
    • Have you selected a surgeon at Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital?
    • If you will need assistance with travel and hotel accommodations

Step 3

  • Contact Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois at 888.802.8776 to notify them of your date of surgery in order to receive enhanced benefits.
  • You, your Care Coordinator and your Home Physician will work together to coordinate all pre-surgical requirements prior to traveling to Texas.
  • The documents available under the Forms tab located on houstonmethodist.org/Boeing will provide you with the necessary documents to begin your pre-surgical process with your Home Physician. 

Step 4

  • Working with your Care Coordinator, you will travel to Texas, meet your Care Team and receive safe, compassionate, personalized care.

Step 5

Please bring the following items with you during your first visit to the hospital:

  • Personal items for up to 3 weeks
  • Prescription medications for up to 3 weeks
  • Comfortable, loose fitting clothing to wear during rehabilitation activities
  • Applicable personal assistance devices (i.e. walker, canes, electronic devices, power cords, etc.)

Step 6

  • Your Care Team will plan your follow-up care and maintain contact with you, as well as your Home Physician throughout your recovery.

Step 7

  • You will need to visit your Home Physician and other providers as outlined by your Care Team soon after returning home.
