The COVID-19 pandemic has presented both our community and our hospital with an unprecedented challenge. At the epicenter of our response to this challenge is our incident command — a small group of experts tasked with making and managing the day-to-day decisions needed to safely and effectively guide our organization and our patients through this pandemic.
"Every decision goes through anywhere from 1 to 100 hours of discussion in incident command to make sure that any decision that's made is well thought through," says Dr. Roberta Schwartz, executive vice president and chief innovation officer at Houston Methodist Hospital.
In the video above, follow along with Dr. Schwartz and her team to see what a day inside our incident command center is like.
