Active Lung Transplant Clinical Trials
Message from the Program Director
Welcome to our Transplant Pulmonary and Advanced Lung Diseases Fellowship, located in the renowned Texas Medical Center. This one-year program is tailored for board-certified or board-eligible pulmonary and critical care physicians, offering advanced training in end-stage lung diseases, lung transplantation, and both donor and recipient management. Our program is uniquely positioned at Houston Methodist Hospital, the largest multi-organ transplant center in the nation and home to the 9th largest pulmonary transplant program as of 2023. The clinical experience here is enriched by a diverse patient population, offering exposure to a wide range of complex and unique pathologies.
In addition to a comprehensive clinical experience, our program is designed to help you reach your unique goals for a career in pulmonary and critical care medicine with a focus in transplantation. With a pulmonary division supporting a wide range of expertise, including pulmonary hypertension and interventional pulmonology, you will have the opportunity to tailor your educational experience to your clinical interests. We also provide the opportunity to participate in ongoing NIH funded and industry-sponsored clinical trials to promote your academic development. Additionally, Methodist’s affiliation with Weill Cornell Medical College and Texas A&M University College of Medicine, provide unique resources to advance your academic career. For those who are educationally minded, opportunities to engage in medical education include clinical and didactic teaching for pulmonary and critical care fellows as well as contributing to ongoing continuing education for transplant advanced practice providers.
