Medical Student Application Process
Third Year
Third-year medical students from several schools rotate through the Houston Methodist OB-GYN residency program for their OB/GYN clerkships including students from the Texas A&M Health Science Center Medical School Houston Campus, the Texas A&M School of Engineering Medicine, Weill Cornell Medical School, University of Houston School of Medicine, and Sam Houston State University. These students have the opportunity to be part of a diverse and dynamic program as they rotate through St. Joseph Medical Center as a part of the Houston Methodist experience. Interested third-year medical students should contact their school clerkship coordinators for more information on the rotation.
Fourth Year Students
The program is proud to offer four courses for fourth year medical students including three acting internships and one rotational elective. Students are able to focus on their procedural skills, gain clinical experience in the field, and contribute to scholarship and research. These courses are available in the Texas A&M Course catalog and all eligible Texas A&M Students can apply for these courses during the course selection lottery for fourth year. Similarly, Weill Cornell students can apply though their course catalog. Our rotations are currently full for the 2023-2024 academic year but will be accepting applications for visiting students using the VSLO system starting Spring 2024.
