Heart & Vascular Residencies & Fellowships

The Postgraduate Cardiovascular Residency for Physician Assistants is a twelve-month program established in 2007 by Houston Methodist Hospital in conjunction with Weill Cornell Medical College. The goal of the program is to provide qualified candidates with the opportunity to learn and improve on their basic surgical sciences, clinical and operative skills and in the process take advantage of the job opportunities available nationwide.

Houston Methodist offers an ACGME-accredited Integrated Vascular Surgery Residency designed to train vascular surgeons so that they can provide personalized, comprehensive surgical care of the highest quality and become eligible for the Primary Certificate in Vascular Surgery.

Houston Methodist offers a one-year ACGME-accredited fellowship for physicians interested in pursuing a career in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology. Our fellowship program offers the entire breadth of clinical exposure from ICU, post-LVAD/transplant floors, cardiac catheterization lab, dedicated HF IMU and outpatient clinic setting.

Houston Methodist offers an ACGME-accredited fellowship for physicians interested in pursuing a career in clinical, academic or investigative cardiology. It is a three-year cardiovascular fellowship training program designed to complete the general cardiovascular training requirements.

Houston Methodist offers a two-year non-ACGME, Texas Medical Board (TMB) accredited fellowship for physicians interested in pursuing a career in cardiovascular imaging. We have multiple imaging modality tracks: echocardiography (1 yr), cardiac MRI (1 yr), nuclear cardiology & CT angiography (1 yr), or a two-year multi-modality program that is flexible. Research participation is required for the two-year program.

Houston Methodist offers an ACGME-accredited fellowship for physicians interested in pursuing a career in interventional cardiology. During the year of interventional training, fellows are expected to master the techniques involved in coronary intervention, while developing perspective on procedural risk and benefit, patient selection and clinical decision-making in cardiovascular patient care.
