Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are informal, volunteer, employee-created and led groups that offer supportive environments for all employees that help to build a more connected community.

They offer professional development, community engagement and networking opportunities, improve awareness of cultural heritage traditions and customs, and support Houston Methodist in achieving its business objectives.

ERGs are comprised of individuals who join together based on common interests, backgrounds or demographics. They must be secular and non-partisan, have an executive sponsor and are chartered by the Office of Culture & Engagement, which mandates that each group must be open to anyone. Employees may join any group they identify with or want to learn more about and support. Employees may also create new ERGs. For more information, review PolicyHR70 and its attachments.

Contact the Office of Culture & Engagement by emailing Nazia Imrose at nimrose2@houstonmethodist.org if you have any questions or you are interested in starting an ERG.
